Veterans Day is Nov. 11 and we will celebrate the bravery and sacrifice of those who have so selflessly served America's armed forces. Please take a moment this Veterans Day to thank our true heroes for their extraordinary sacrifices. A few words of appreciation mean a lot to our service members who have given so much.
This also is a good time to check out programs and services available to veterans through the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs and other agencies. Please feel free to share the following information with any friends or family you think could benefit.
LinkVet, the Veterans Linkage Line for Minnesota veterans, makes it easier for veterans and their families to find services and ensure immediate crisis intervention. Trained staff from the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs will provide information on veterans' benefits, healthcare, education, and reintegration during normal business hours. The line will roll to Crisis Connection counselors for 24-hour, seven days a week coverage (including holidays) for immediate crisis intervention and psychological counseling. For more information on LinkVet, log on to www.mdva.state.mn.us/LinkVet.htm or call (888) 546-5838.
