Theodore “Ted” Bertram

A private family and extended family funeral service for Theodore “Ted” Bertram of Hewitt and a native of Herman, MN, was held June 9th with Pastor Jeremy Schneider presiding.

Ted, age 87, passed away on June 5th, 2020, at the St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN, after suffering a hear attack on the first of June.

Theodore “Ted” was born to Herman and Tina (Bartell) Bertram on December 8th, 1932, in rural Herman, MN, where he attended school through the 12th grade.

Ted was united in marriage with Darlene Schoonover on June 30th, 1955 in Norcross, MN, making this June their 65th wedding anniversary. The couple lived near Herman, later moving to a dairy farm in the Ashby area for three years, followed by three years close to Hoffman. They purchased their farm in rural Bertha in 1969. It had been a dream of Ted’s to have a dairy farm near Wadena which now supports five families! He loved farming with his sons and grandchildren. They made a great team! Ted loved the Lord and all people. He was everyone’s friend, a compassionate caring man who adored his wife, and a man who dearly loved his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren especially loved him. Ted is survived by his devoted wife Darlene; children David (Naomi) of Hewitt, Karen (Vic) Wendorf of Florissant, CO, Jeffrey (Jen) of Owatonna, James (Tammy) of Hewitt, Joel (Meredith) of Blaine, Kim (Geno) Caputo of Cannon Falls; grandchildren and great-grandchildren Eric (Angie), Trenton, Taylor, Keaton, Mark (Amy), Braydon, Connor, Ryker, Skylar, Keira, Trent, Cory, Jeremy (Mary), Cameron, Kurtis, Colby, Lyle, Coyte, Adam (Brittany), Max, Roman, Arlo, Aaron (Ashley), Louis, Eddie, Colton, Chase, Dustin, Keisha, Amber (Dan), Lexi, Madi, Tyler, Hailey, Bianca, and Lachlan; and great-great-grandson Braxton; along with a brother Rudy of Herman. Ted was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Tina; sister Heleana; brothers Henry, Herman, Fred, Gary, Les, and Ervin.

Honorary pallbearers were Amber, Colton, Chase, Keisha, Bianca, Lachlan, Tyler and Hailey. Serving as pallbearers were Eric, Mark, Trent, Cory, Dustin, Jeremy, Adam and Aaron.

Burial was in Woodside Cemetery, Wrightstown, MN.
