Ronald Reed

Ronald Reed, age 78 of Wadena, passed away peacefully December 1, 2021, at his home surrounded by love and family.

Ron was born December 20, 1942 in Minneapolis, MN, to Earnest and Martha (Gabler) Reed.

He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, MN. Ron continued his education at the University of MN where he earned his Associate in Arts degree. He also enlisted in the Navy as an AK (Aviation Store Keeper) and was honorably discharged November 30, 1967. Ron also obtained an Automobile Mechanical certificate from Dunwoody Industrial Institute in Minneapolis, MN.

He married Clara (Dee) Busker in April 1967 and relocated to Clara’s family farm in Wadena, MN where they took over the Busker’s farm. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, woodworking, working on anything mechanical and welding where he loved sharing his passions with his children and grandchildren. Ron enjoyed so many things, but in the later part of his life he enjoyed the new experience of building smokers with his son Corey. Ron was always willing to help in a time of need and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his sister, Marlene (Don) Frondrick, Corey (Krista) Reed, Carmen (Troy) Barth, Wanda (Dan) Dwyer, Jaime (Steve) Malone and mother-in-law Rose Busker,13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, several nephews, and a niece.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Reed, son Wendell Reed, daughter Teri Reed, father Earnest Reed, and mother Martha Reed.
