Ronald Peterson

Ronald Peterson, age 85, of Wadena, Minnesota passed away on April 23, 2022 at his home in Wadena. Memorial Services were held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Karvonen Funeral Home in Wadena, Minnesota with Pastor Nate Loer officiating.

Ronald Victor Peterson was born on September 16, 1936, in St. Paul, Minnesota. His parents were the late Victor Emanuel and Erma Dorothy (Martenson) Peterson. Ronald was confirmed in the Peace Lutheran Church in Lauderdale, Minnesota and graduated from the Marshall High School in Minneapolis with the class of 1954. He also attended the University of Minnesota.

On September 12, 1958 Ron was united in marriage with Carole Ann Roetman at the Peace Lutheran Church in Lauderdale. Their marriage was blessed with 3 children: Lynda, Karla and Brian. The Peterson family made their home in Falcon Heights from 1958-1980. Ron owned and operated Jansen Brothers Greenhous where he specialized in growing roses. In 1982 they moved to Wadena where they purchased Wadena Floral. Their daughter, Karla joined them at Wadena Floral as Ron and Carole retired in 2009.

Ronald was also a member of the Roses Inc., a Rotarian, and a member of the ELKS Club.

Ronald enjoyed coaching youth’s football, fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling. He loved playing hockey in high school and in later years watching hockey, especially the Minnesota Gophers.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents: Victor and Erma Peterson and his daughter Karla Peterson.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife Carole Peterson of Wadena; daughter: Lynda Peterson of St. Paul; son: Brian Peterson of Turner, Oregon; six grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and loyal companion: Sparky; along with many other relatives and a host of friends.
