Nat Eugene Erckenbrack

Nat Eugene Erckenbrack was born on April 4th, 1948 in Wadena, Minnesota. He was the oldest of 10 children born to Cleon and Phyllis Erckenbrack (nee Utermarck). Nat died on June 11, 2022 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Billings, Montana at age 74.

He graduated from Wadena High School in 1967, where he enjoyed playing football, and was a successful Golden Gloves boxer. After high school he was drafted into the U.S. Army. Upon graduating from basic training in Fort Lewis, Washington, he was sent to Chu Lai, Vietnam in April, 1969, where he served with the Battery G, 55th Artillery, American Division. He returned to the U.S. in March, 1970, and moved to Red Lodge, Montana in 1974 where he worked for many years as a carpenter. Nat enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Cleon, his mother Phyllis, his sister Becky, and his brother Danny. He is survived by his brothers Bruce, James, and Patrick, his sisters Barbara, Robin, Kim, and Debbie, and his children Sam, Jake, and Sophie, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and his beloved dog, Maggie.

A memorial service will be held on July 16th 1pm-3pm at 215 1st St NW, Wadena at the home of Kim & Henry Roggenkamp.
