Kenneth H. Pitcher
Kenneth Henry Pitcher, the son of George and Gladys (VanWinkle) Pitcher, was born on June 19, 1938, in Courtenay, ND. Ken grew up in the Wadena area and graduated high school from Wadena High School.
Ken married Marjorie McIntire on December 24, 1959, at the Church of God in Bertha. To this union four children were born: Randy, Steve, Mark, and Sandra. The Pitcher family lived in Wadena, Hewitt, Indiana, and then Glenwood. Ken farmed and worked as a plumber before he began his career in manufacturing. After over 40 years with MHC in Glenwood, Ken retired.
Fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, and being outdoors were some of Ken’s hobbies. He also enjoyed mowing his lawn, woodworking, construction and watching western movies and shows. However, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, was what Ken loved to do the most.
Ken died on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Bethany on the Lake at the age of 83 years old. He is survived by his children: Randy (Cindy) of Bertha, Steve of Sauk Centre, Mark (Lorene) of Carlos, Sandra (Ron) of Alexandria; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Diane (Jerry) Crabb of Wadena and Edna (Vern) VanOrsdel of Wadena.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marjorie Pitcher and siblings Larry and Sharon.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 11 AM at Luther Crest Bible Camp (8231 County Rd 11 NW, Alexandria).
Ken’s Celebration of Life will be Live-streamed and recorded on his obituary page on the Anderson Funeral Home website, for those who are not able to attend on Tuesday.
A visitation will take place on Monday, October 18, 2021, from 4-7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria and for one hour prior to the service at Luther Crest Bible Camp on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Interment will be in the Hewitt Cemetery in Hewitt, MN.
