Homer “Jim” Pratt
The public funeral service for Homer “Jim” Pratt of Parkers Prairie, was held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7th, at the Domian-Anderson Chapel in Bertha with Pastor Bonita Orr presiding.
Jim, age 82, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Alomere Hospital in Alexandria, MN.
Homer “Jim” Pratt was born on September 2, 1938 in Bertha, MN to Homer and Catherine (Carlson) Pratt. Jim grew up on the family farm and graduated from Bertha-Hewitt High School. In 1957, Jim entered into the United States Air Force. He served for 23 years, finally retiring with an honorable discharge in 1980. During his service to our country, Jim was united in marriage with Mary Del Brunko on March 21, 1959, in Hewitt.
He was a proud member of his local American Legion. He loved watching and playing all sports. In his youth he enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time in the presence of others, especially his family.
Preceding Jim in death were his wife, Mary Del of 48 years; his parents Homer and Catherine; and son, Bradley E. Pratt.
Memories of Jim will be treasured by his special friend, Janet Dehn of Parkers Prairie; daughter-in-law, Elvia Cummins of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Blake and Isabela Pratt of Houston, TX; siblings, Joyce (Larry) Uselman of Wadena, Barry (Sandie) Pratt of Wadena, Dara (Jason) Turner of San Antonio, TX, Marilee (Chuck) Wegner of Bertha, MN, along with a host of friends, family and neighbors.
Serving as pallbearers were Blake Pratt, Barry Pratt, Chuck Wegner, Larry Uselman, Charlie Brunko, Travis Daugherty, and Steven Dougherty.
Burial was in Wadena Cemetery, Wadena, MN.
