Carol Cypher

A private graveside service celebrating the life of Carol Cypher, will be held at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Verndale, with Pastor Kevin Gregory presiding. Due to the Covid-19 virus, the family chose not to have a visitation to keep their family and friends safe. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Carol, age 81, passed away surrounded by her family on November 9, 2020, at the Providence Villa in Sebeka, MN.

Carol was born to Herman and Susie (Stahl) Hofer on October 26, 1939, in Huron, SD. She was united in marriage with Henry “Hank” William Cypher on May 7, 1960, in Clark, SD. Carol and Hank were dairy farmers for many years near Verndale, MN. After selling their farm and moving into Verndale in 1989, Carol worked in environmental services at Lakewood Health System in Staples, until her retirement in 2008.

Carol cherished spending time with her family and friends, always finding time for pie and coffee. She enjoyed listening to country music, cooking her signature chicken dinner, tending her houseplants and practicing her Christian faith, watching wildlife TV shows, and going for walks and biking outside.

Preceding Carol in death were her husband Hank on July 10, 2002; parents Herman and Susie; and siblings Alan Hofer, LaVonne Hintz, and Dorothy Hofer.

Carol’s memory will remain in the hearts of her children Michael (Alicia) Cypher of New Richmond, WI, and Yvette (Michael) Jahnke of Wadena; grandchildren Alexandria (David) Finnessy, Chasity (Larry) Cypher, Marissa Jahnke and Tyler Jahnke; great-grandchildren Willow, Leo, Sebastian, and Levi; along with siblings Norman (Delores) Hofer, Bill (Judy) Hofer, Richard (Carol) Hofer, Bruce (Gayle) Hofer, and Charlotte (David) Gamber.
