Anita Lorraine (Goedel) Johnston

Anita Lorraine (Goedel) Johnston, 86, died February 4, 2019 at her home in Sedona, Arizona. She was born February 21, 1932 to Carl and Lorna (Feyerherm) Goedel in rural Wadena County. She graduated from Wadena High School in 1950. Anita worked in Wadena as a Northwestern Bell operator and at Green Thumb, and was a Guest Services Representative at Grand Casino, Mille Lacs. Upon retirement, she loved spending time with family and friends and graciously hosted visiting loved ones. She also enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and walking Harley' around the golf course.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, husband David Johnston, daughter Susan Johnston, granddaughter Courtney Carmen, brother Herbert Goedel, and sister Marian Johnston.

Survivors include her daughters Debra Johnston (special friend Clifford), Patricia (Eugene) Sunstrom, and Karen Johnston, son Mark Johnston, 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, sisters Olga Schwartz, Naomi Frye, Helen (Don) Harvey, Carol Spencer, and Verlie (Dick) Breuer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 22 at 12:00, Sunnybrook Park North-Birch Shelter. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
