Robert "Bob" Stanley Freeman of Wadena, MN passed away October 30, 2018 at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, ND. Funeral Mass was held for Bob on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at St. Ann's Catholic Church with Fr. Aaron Kuhn officiating in Wadena. Pallbearers were Ryan Freeman, Joshua Riedel, Jeffrey Riedel, Eric Pahlman, Matthew Felegy and Bob Braley. Bob's grandchildren were named honorary pallbearers. Military Honors were provided by Elmer Goche V.F.W. Post #3922 of Wadena, MN. Bob was laid to rest in Wadena City Cemetery. Bob Freeman was born October 6, 1938 in Breckenridge, MN to Leo and Ann (Rice) Freeman. Bob grew up in Wadena attending and graduating from Wadena High School with the Class of 1956. He entered the military right after graduation, enlisting with the United States Air Force and honorably served for 28 years. On April 8, 1961 Bob was united in marriage to Nona Marie Sheridan. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters. Bob co-owned Northland Implement on Highway 71 in Wadena for many years before closing their doors in 1991. Bob was then employed as park maintenance with the City of Wadena, hosting the Sunnybrook campground office, bringing joy to everyone who met him until his retirement. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, bird watching, gardening, traveling and having coffee downtown with his friends and prayer group. He loved spending his time with family, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Fred and his sister, Mary. He will forever by remembered by his loving wife, Nona of Wadena; and two daughters: Laurie (Bob) Braley of Wadena and Linda (Tom) Clayton of Kansas City, MO. Other survivors include seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Riedel) Pahlman, Ryan Freeman, Jeffrey Riedel, Joshua Riedel, LeAnna Freeman, Caitlyn Kreller, Amie Kreller; six great-grandchildren; his sister, Elizabeth Tweed of Cold Spring; nephews: Paul Burnsteader, Allen Tweed, Todd Tweed; nieces: Kathy Krewer, Stacy Tweed, and Ann Eastling; numerous other relatives and friends.
