The memorial service for Walter Snook of Hewitt was held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, at the New Life Church of God with Pastor Jason Knoll presiding.
Walter, age 67, passed away with family at his side on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at this home in Hewitt, MN.
Walter was born to Harry Eugene and May Ida (Huntington) Snook on April 16, 1951, in Bertha, MN. He graduated from Verndale Public Schools at Verndale, MN. He drove truck from 1978 until 2018 for various over-the-road transportation companies, nationwide Trucking, and Long Prairie Packing. He also ran a riding stable with his brother Chuck near Park Rapids.
Walt was united in marriage with Laura Shamp on April 4, 2017 at the Vegas Adventure Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, NV. He loved to deer hunt and spend time in the woods. He enjoyed doing things around the house, helping Laura in the garden, and visiting with family. He and Laura made many wonderful memories while traveling and spending time together.
Preceding Walt in death were his parents Harry and May; sisters Seretha, Harriet, Thelma, Susie, and Wilma; brothers Charles "Chuck" and Wilbur; and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Laura; children Kayla and Dennis both of Clitherall, MN; step-sons Thomas Snook and Gayle (Tammy) Snook of Parkers Prairie; sisters Donna Brown of Verndale, Marcy Beaty of Big Lake, and Ethel (Dave) Sherry of Apex, NC; brother Martin (Sharon) of Ham Lake; as well as special nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.
Honorary urn bearer was Michael Proell.
Burial of ashes will be in the Oak Valley Cemetery, Hewitt, MN at a later date.
