Your Letters: Support representatives who voted 'no'

You have got to laugh at Nancy Pelosi's comedy show spewing divisive rhetoric following the vote down of the Wall Street bailout. Dems in the House called it a "buy in." Go figure.

You have got to laugh at Nancy Pelosi's comedy show spewing divisive rhetoric following the vote down of the Wall Street bailout. Dems in the House called it a "buy in." Go figure.

During the post-vote press conference last Monday morning, Sept. 29, she scolded the Republicans for voting "no." You didn't hear her scold the nearly 100 Democrats who voted no, did you? With the Democrats holding the majority in the House she could have voted it in anytime she wanted! Facts show 95 Democrats voted "no" including numerous representatives on Democrat Senator Barney Frank's banking committee.

It's no secret Pelosi was attempting to pass this pathetic bailout bill with Republican support to later blame them.

Incidentally, Minnesota Congressman Jim Oberstar, a Democrat, supported and voted "yes" on Monday for the bill. I urge readers to not re-elect Oberstar for not siding with taxpayers. Do you know, his Democrat colleagues tried to obtain $20 billion for the Democrat-sponsored and supported A.C.O.R.N. program. To make matters worse, the Senate passed its version of the bailout bill with $120 billion of pork. Can any of our representatives and leaders get it right?

Unfortunately, many people, including myself with 401k, mutual funds and stocks took a big hit in the subsequent stock market drop. Frankly, I am happy it didn't pass the House and support those who vote "no" till they get it right. Even if it means taking another hit. To sum it up, I supported representatives who voted "no" that have taken the "hard right" approach rather than the "easy wrong."
