Investigators believe an external wood stove is to blame for a fire that burned part of a house near Deer Creek.
According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office, a home on Minnesota Highway 210 belonging to Jose Garcia partially burned when the wood stove caught the side of the house on fire.
Garcia was taken to Tri-County Hospital in Wadena for evaluation for smoke inhalation.
The fire, on Friday, Dec. 2, was doused by firefighters from Deer Creek and Henning. It happened around 9 p.m.
