Women of all ages are encouraged to attend Tri-County Hospital's annual "Women's Night Out" program from 4 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 1 at Minnesota State Community and Technical College -- Wadena or Oct. 2 at New York Mills City Hall Ballroom. Parking and admission are free.
"It's a wellness program for women to nurture your mind, body and spirit," said Roxy Hejhal, Community Relations manager at TCH. "It will inspire and energize you!"
So far, the response to this year's Women's Night Out has been overwhelming. The Wadena site filled quickly; however, women are encouraged to sign up for the New York Mills site.
Take advantage of health screenings and browse around the health expo from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by the evening program featuring a soup and sandwich buffet, an informational session on women's health, a demonstration on self-defense and keynote speaker, Chris Linnares.
Linnares is a psychologist, comedian and author, who has dedicated her career to offering women a more sensible approach to improving their lives. She published her first book in 2004 called, "Cinderella on the Couch," an insightful, self-help novel that reveals the five spiritual teachings hidden in the classic Cinderella story. She is also known for creating the "Diva Dance," a unique brand of self-help dance and inspiration.
