Patty Berg's Wadena-Deer Creek girls captured seven titles Thursday en route to top honors in the Daggett Invitational.

Brittney Noon took first in the 100 and 200 dash events with times of 12.70 and 26.76. The WDC star's time in the 100 placed her second in the Top 10 Honor Roll while her 200 time gave her fourth place.

The Wolverines also grabbed firsts in the 4x100 and 4x200 relays with times of 52.76 and 1:55.55. WDC's 4x400 team ran second with a 4:32.93.

Brigetta Berg scored first-place points for the Wolverines in the pole vault by clearing 9-6. Hannah Toedter won the 3,200 with a 12:04.71.

Emily Wood challenged for top honors in the 800 and 1,600 races with second place times of 2:37.96 and 5:44.62.

WDC's Dane Hoffman won the discus with a 139-3 and placed third in the shot with a 43-2.5.

Caleb Hamman was runner-up in the pole vault as he cleared the bar at 12 feet.

Amos Schmidt and Josh Ganz were solo winners for Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale in the meet. Schmidt won the 300 high hurdles with a 42.46 while Ganz won the long jump with an 18-10 effort. The Raiders ran second in the boys' 4x400 relay with a time of 3:44.66. The Raiders were third in the 4x100 with a 47.59.

BH/V's Josh Ganz won the long jump and Amos Schmidt won the 300 hurdles to lead the Raiders boys to sixth.

W-DC's Dane Hoffman won the discus for the eighth-place Wolverines with a 139-3 giving him ninth place on the honor roll. Hoffman was third in the shot with a 43-2 1/2.

The Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale girls' placed sixth in the team scoring.

WDC girls place third in True Team

The Breckenridge/Campbell-Tintah girls and the Ada-Borup boys took top honors with 941.5 and 904 points respectively last Tuesday in the Section 6A True Team meet at the Wadena-Deer Creek track facility.

Patty Berg saw her WDC girls place third behind BCT and Barnesville-Rothsay 798.5 points.

Brittney Noon captured a pair of victories for the Wolverines as she set the pace in the 100 and 200 dash events with times of 13.37 and 28.88.

Brigetta Berg and Hannah Toedter also had strong individual meets. Berg placed in three individual events. The senior standout won the pole vault with an 8-6, took second in the high jump with a 5-0 and finished third in the discus with a 101-11.5. Toedter came up with runner-up finishes in the 1,600 and 3,200 runs with times of 5:47.10 and 12:08.35.

WDC's 4x100 relay picked up a first with a 53.60 while the 4x200 team and 4x400 relays took fourth with times of 1:57.92 and 4:27.69.

Emily Wood placed fourth in the 1,600 with a 5:57.39 and fifth in the 800 with a 2:40.66.

Janessa Weaver threw the discus 95-5.5 as the Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale girls took 10th with 476 points. Rose Shaw was sixth in the 100 dash with a 14.10 and seventh in the 200 with a 29.70.

The Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale boys were eighth with 559.5 points while the Wadena-Deer Creek boys took 15th with 383.5.

Amos Schmidt paced the BHV squad with a winning 43.48 time in the 300 hurdles. Schmidt turned in a 17.96 in the 110 hurdles. Josh Ganz was runner-up in the long jump with a 20-7.25. Ganz also placed fourth in the 200 dash. The Raiders took second in the 4x200 with a 1:40.09.

The Wolverines got a fourth place time of 48.25 from their 4x100 relay team, a fourth from Dane Hoffman in the shot put with a 42-8.25 and a fifth from Caleb Hamman in the pole vault with a 9-6.
