Wilbur Willie Payne, 61, of rural Verndale, died May 14, 2006, at his home.
He was born on May 11, 1945, to George and Rose (Gaul) Payne in Wadena. He graduated from Verndale High School. For a few years, he worked at the Wadena Silo Company and worked for the Wadena Ready Mix for many years. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. He was well liked and will be missed.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. May 20 at the Bielema Family Funeral Home in Verndale with the Rev. Daryl Jacobson officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call after noon until service time. Casketbearers are Alvin Schwartz, Doug Heern, Ron Butzin, Harvey Mudgett, D.J. Sellin, and Ken Nelson. Bielema Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include three brothers, Robert (Rose) of Staples, George (Shirley) of Park Rapids and James of Verndale.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
