The Wadena-Deer Creek boys tennis team swept all the single and doubles matches en route to a 7-0 victory over Minnewaska Area on May 18 in Wadena.
Wolverines singles players Aaron Nelson, Tyler Gress and Derek Blazek won in two sets while Jacob Hillesland bounced back from losing his first set to win the next two helping WDC complete the singles sweep.
Nelson defeated Laker Cody Bosek 6-3, 6-4 in No. 1 singles action; No. 2 Hillesland defeated Adam Jeniges 3-6, 6-2, 6-4; Gress won 6-0, 6-3 over Jesse Duhn in the third singles and Blazek completed the fourth singles with a 6-1, 6-1 match victory over Dylan Hoffman.
The Wolverines first doubles tandem of Chad Peterson/Aaron Taggart won in two sets by scores 6-0, 6-1 over Lakers Jeremy Pederson/Andy Clare. The Wolverines second and third doubles teams went three sets each with Jeff Brown and Tom Leyh at No. 2 winning 3-6, 6-0, 6-0 over Lars Meisher/Tanner Blair. Doubles duo Cody Bain and Caleb Bigham won 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 in the third doubles.
The Wolverines hosted Aitkin on Tuesday.
