Twenty students are involved as actors as well as behind the scenes. They include: Justin Tucker, Tess Kirkland, Haley Kellogg, Katie Anderson, Allie Olson, Andrew Oppegard, Maddie Eckman, Mike Paulson, Kelsi Vorderbruggen, Kevin Klawitter, Josiah Berger, Matt Frank, Taylor Snyder, Brad Becker, Angie Lorentz, Brittany Anderson, Dan Berger, Lindsey Juers, Kristen Rokenbrodt and Britta Moen.
"'The Orphan Train' is set in the Midwest and New York City where during the course of almost half a century, orphans were sent from New York City to homes with families wanting children," explained Jay Patterson, director of the student production. "They came by train and were often chosen on site at railroad depots. There was even an orphan train that came through Wadena and a child was adopted into the Wadena community."
The public is encouraged to attend the Jan. 29 performance. There is no charge for admission. The cast will compete in the Subsection Contest on Saturday, Jan. 31 in Wadena.
