The Wadena-Deer Creek Concert Band has been chosen to perform at the 2018 Minnesota Music Educators Association Midwinter (MMEA) Clinic.
WDC's Feb. 22 scheduled performance is slated for 1 p.m. at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
The WDC Concert Band was also selected to perform at the MMEA Clinic in 2013.
The honor, while not unheard of, according to Band Director Lisa Weninger, is quite rare.
Weniger sent a recorded audition by the 2017 concert band to MMEA for their listening panel of elected region music representatives to judge. The blind audition (when the panel does not know who they are listening to) only know the group as a number.
