Wadena-Deer Creek band and choir students received superior and excellent ratings at the section/state competition May 6 in Staples.
Three WDC choir students, Jaclyn Kramer, Ryan Klawitter and Lindsay DeLeeuw, received superior ratings at the section/state competition. Three WDC choir students, Zach Stevens, Nicole Larabel and Samantha McGrane, received excellent ratings.
Fourteen WDC band students received superior ratings at the section/state competition. They are: Katie Anderson and Elizabeth Quincer, saxophone duet; Cody Bain, Mason Lynk, Tim Papillon and Rachel Richter, percussion ensemble; Courtney Bernu and Abbe Malone, saxophone duet; Lindsay DeLeeuw, oboe solo; Nathan Hercula, alto sax solo; Alissa Johnson, flute solo; Samantha McGrane, flute solo; Rachel Papillon, french horn solo, and Stacie Wolfenden, trombone solo. Two band students received an excellent rating, Sara Wegscheid and Cassy Popp, woodwind duet.
