A 45-year-old from Wadena was charged in district court with fifth-degree controlled substance crime and theft of controlled substance for allegedly taking someone else's prescription painkillers.
Randy Dean Pickering will make his first appearance on the charges March 1.
On Dec. 28, an empty prescription packet for a drug called Tramadol was found in Pickering's home, according to court records. Officers met with Pickering, who admitted being addicted to pain medication and said he ingested all 30 pills of Tramadol.
