A Park Rapids man was released on $12,000 bond after allegedly being found passed out behind the wheel with the vehicle in park and the engine gunned.

A Wadena County sheriff's deputy and Menahga police officer allegedly found Bruce Richard Weaver, 38, unconscious behind the wheel of his vehicle. The officers tried to wake Weaver, court records said, but he just responded with a grunt. His vehicle was turned off by officers.

When they were questioning him, Weaver was asked where he had been drinking and he replied, "Your mom was there." When he was asked again where he was, he said he was "at camp."

Court documents said Weaver failed field sobriety tests and then blew .211 on a breathalyzer. He was charged with second-degree DWI. He has previous DWI convictions from October 2008, October 1991 and January 1989, court records showed. A contested omnibus hearing was set for Jan. 6.
