After detailed financial analysis and review, Tri-County Health Care is significantly reducing home health care services effective June 30, 2009. This is due in part to the state and federal budget challenges. Restructuring plans include discontinuing all homemaking services and limiting long-term home care services. These changes also mean a reduction of home health care staff.
"The Tri-County Health Care Governing Board and administrative team deeply regret the need to reduce services," stated Joel Beiswenger, Interim President and CEO. "However our extensive financial analysis and state budget challenges do not allow us to continue all services or to continue to provide services at the current volume levels."
Home health care staff were notified about the impending changes on April 30. All positions will be terminated, but employees are encouraged to reapply under the newly restructured home health care department, as well as other open positions within the organization. Current home health care clients, county and other area agencies and physicians were also notified about the changes. Tri-County Health Care plans to work cooperatively with all agencies to ensure the best possible transition.
