Wadena's Business Park construction starts soon

Workers from Kansas City were smoothing out the top layer of rubber under the playground equipment Monday, Aug. 19. They mentioned a large job is typically 5,000 - 7,000 square feet. WDC has about 11,000 square feet of the base, which has a top blue coating that should last 10 years, officials said.

Road rally: Locals optimistic in face of Hwy 10 construction

A portion of Hwy 29 along the Wadena-Deer Creek Elementary School and M State College is shown blocked off to divert traffic away from the elementary school at about 3:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2. A construction worker struck a gas line and emergency workers shutdown all routes around the school to keep the public clear of the area until the threat could be eliminated.

Elementary remodel continues to move swiftly

A group gathered to scratch the surface of the future splash pad in the southwest park next to the wading pool. They included Janette Bower, George Deiss, Dean Krogstad, Sandy Black, Deb Wiese, Sara Ross, Mark Lunde, Mike Pete, Larry DeWald and Dan Kovar. With the work to begin soon, completion could be done in August.
