Murray Jacobson of Wadena was using his tractor to work in his garden last week, and decided to take a break for dinner. When he came back, he was shocked by what he saw.
Jacobson, who lives on Wadena County Road 100, returned to find a center-pivot irrigator on top of his Ferguson 30 tractor.
"I inadvertently left my tractor in its path," Jacobson said.
Jacobson said he had been spreading manure in his garden with the tractor and didn't think the irrigator would be running this late in the year. He said the neighboring farmer who owns the irrigator pays him for a right-of-way so the irrigator can pass through Jacobson's yard.
The farmer was using the pivot irrigator to spray water on his crops to protect them from frost damage.

The low-speed collision caused the front wheel of the irrigator to climb the tractor, but then it got hung up on it and the wheels kept spinning, and digging down into the earth.
Jacobson said the farmer used a skid steer loader to lift the wheel of the irrigator, and Jacobson backed his tractor out of the path.
"Fortunately, there was no damage," he said.
Jacobson was amused by the incident.
"It has never happened before, and it will never happen again," he said.
