Tim Skolte, 57, of Brainerd, died Thursday, June 13, 2007, submitting to his struggle with bladder cancer.
He was born in Austin, Minn., on July 26, 1949, the first of the 12 Skolte children. He was a resident at Milender Residential Home for the mentally disabled for the last 12 years and was under the care of their kind staff through his hospice. His caregivers at Milender Residential Home will most certainly miss him.
He will be remembered for his big smile and friendly, peaceful personality. He was a gentle man. Some of his favorite things were orange soda pop and orange slice candies. He loved to listen to music and look at magazines. He enjoyed being around children and looking at pictures that included kids. His most favorite activity was long rides through the countryside, especially with his dad. It is remembered that, as a child, he could often be heard humming "Jesus Loves Me" on visits to the family farm.
