Tillie V. Kyar, 95, of Brainerd and formerly of Hewitt, died March 10, 2006, at St. Josephs Medical Center in Brainerd.

She was born Aug. 16, 1910, in Hewitt to Fred and Rosa (Ladwig) Breid. She married Clifford M. Kyar on Oct. 18, 1928. She had been a Brainerd-area resident since 1936 and was a member of First Lutheran Church, where she and her husband led the nursery volunteers for many years. She was known as a devoted wife and mother who loved children. She loved gardening and raising African violets.

Her funeral was March 14 at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd with the Rev. Andrew Smith officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include one son, Wayne (Judy) Kyar; five daughters, Donna (Lee) Smith, Karyl (Robert) Smith, Laraine (Charles) Curren, Debbie (Ray) Mudgett, Susan (Stan) Buresh; one daughter-in-law, Judith Kyar; one sister, Ruby Lynk of Wadena; 20 grandchildren; 35-great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989; one son, Richard; one daughter, Lillian; three brothers, Arnie, Art and Carl Breid; and one great-grandson.
