A campaign to tackle the stigma and lack of understanding around dementia is underway with the support of Dementia Friendly Wadena Action Team.
The Dementia Friendly Wadena Action Team is hosting a 'Dementia Friends' information sessions on March 7 and is looking for local people to join in learning about dementia and helping people who are living with it in our community.
Dementia Friends is a large initiative to change people's perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way people think, talk and act about the disease. The Dementia Friends session helps people learn about dementia and the small ways they can help. From telling friends about the program to visiting someone living with dementia, every action counts.
The one-hour session will offered three times on March 7:
• 10 a.m. at the Wadena County Courthouse, 415 Jefferson St., Wadena, MN, in the Lower Level Conference Room
