A 21-year-old store clerk from Wadena was charged in Wadena County District Court with theft of between $1,001 and $5,000 from a Wadena store where she was employed.

Chelsea Mae Dunn is accused of taking the money from her employer between July 27 and Oct. 11. Court records said she would ring up an item on her cash register so the drawer would open, and she'd use that cash to go buy lottery tickets. Dunn admitted to thefts on 42 dates, court records said, totaling $1,447.81. She said she did this because she was "bored."

She was charged with theft Jan. 10, and her first appearance was set for Feb. 6.
