The Wadena County Sheriff's Office responded to a one-vehicle crash at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 15.
Sheriff Michael Carr said the driver, Steven James Mcdeid, 61, of St. Cloud, was westbound on U.S. Highway 10 in Aldrich when he lost control of his vehicle, causing him to go into the median and then back across westbound lanes before he collided with a parked vehicle at a business in Aldrich.
Mcdeid was taken by ambulance to the Staples Hospital as a precaution with minor injuries. Drug Recognition Experts from the Wadena County Sheriff's Office and Minnesota State Patrol conducted an evaluation on the driver and he was subsequently arrested for DWI.
The Verndale Police Department, Verndale Fire Department and Staples Ambulance all responded to the call.
