Sebeka Medical Clinic held a 25th Anniversary Open House on Friday, Dec. 9. Approximately 200 people came to celebrate with clinic staff. One of the newest additions for guests to enjoy was a baby quilt handmade by Lois Koll, a long-time resident of Sebeka.
"Sebeka Medical Clinic is honored to display one of her works of art," said Judy White, Tri-County Health Care clinic administrator.
Koll's children donated the quilt in memory of their mom who was a Sebeka schoolteacher and part of the community since 1951. She was a member of many civic organizations including the Bluegrass Quilt Club. Her passion was quilting and she designed many works of art. Lois and her husband Ambrose were lifelong members of the Sebeka community. Lois also volunteered for many years at Tri-County Health Care as a Pink Lady.
"Her dedication to the local community was greatly appreciated," said White.
Koll passed away on Sept. 20, 2010 at the age of 81.

The Sebeka Medical Clinic opened in November 1986, with Dr. Lorene Vedder there full-time. Since 1986, the clinic has had a rich history with several medical providers providing care to local patients including Linda Kuismi, FNP, who joined the clinic in 1993 and several providers from Wadena Medical Center who travel there regularly. Steve Davis, M.D. and Nicole Strand, M.D. both see patients at Sebeka Medical Clinic regularly.
Refreshments were enjoyed by people who stopped by to visit with clinic staff. Door prize winners were: LaVerne Milbradt, flower; Ray Jarvi, Santa Claus; Allie Haverinen, kid's toy basket.
