Wadena-Deer Creek eighth-grader Emma Schmitz continued to shine Saturday as she placed 90th in the Swain Invitational at Enger Park in Duluth.
Schmitz, who did not start the season running against varsity competition but quickly transitioned, placed 90th with a 17:31 time. Teammate Charley Cantrell ran a time of 18:00.3 for 133rd place.
WDC's Neil Janson posted a time of 18:48.6 in the boys' varsity field to place 155th.
WDC harriers Joey Pate and Zach Bernu tested the JV field where Pate placed 55th with a 19:34.9 and Bernu took 107th with a 20:21.1.
