Robert Kreutzer Kohlhase, 88, passed away quietly on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena.

He was born to Rude and Lillian (Kreutzer) Kohlhase on the family farm in rural Bertha on Aug. 28, 1918. He attended rural school and ended up in Minneapolis where he worked as a security officer in the early 1960s. He returned to Bertha where he went to work at Homecrest Industries until retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Masons and the Shriners. For many years he rode his motorcycle in area parades.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7, in the Domian-Anderson Funeral Home in Bertha with Pastor Orville Sauter officiating. Burial will take place at the Zion Cemetery in rural Bertha this coming spring. Honorary pallbearers were Harry Tichte, Allyn Busch, Neal Busch, David Busch, Donald Messer and Gary Messer.

Survivors include his brother, David, (Kim) of rural Bertha; sisters, Marie Busch and Ruth (Leonard) Messer, both of Wadena; four nieces and nine nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Philip and Charles.
