On Nov. 18, the Wadena County Sheriff's Office received multiple reports of mail theft and tampering from the Staples Post Office. The affected residences are in Thomastown Township. Some of the incidents happened within an hour of the mail being delivered. The mail has been found scattered throughout ditches and on the side streets in the city of Staples.
This is currently under investigation by the Wadena County Sheriff's Office. Anyone that has seen any suspicious vehicles in this area or has any other information is asked to contact the Wadena County Sheriff's Office at (218) 631-7600. The United States Postal Inspector is offering up to a $500 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people stealing mail in the Staples area.
