Renata Eleanor Dickhoff, 85, passed away Jan. 10, 2009, at Knute Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria.
She was born March 14, 1923, to Peter Otto and Emilie (Krueger) Beckman in Parkers Prairie. She married Elmer August Dickhoff on April 10, 1943, in Wadena. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, baking and being involved in church activities.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 14 at St. John Lutheran Church in Wadena, with the Rev. William Stockman officiating. Interment was in Wadena Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jerry Hollatz, Jerry Prettyman, Jr., Ted Justice, David Justice, Alan Frietag and Larry Hackler. At the family's request, memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church in Wadena. Arrangements were with Johnson Memorial Home in Wadena ( www.johnsonmemorialhome.com ).
Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Frieda Beckman of Wadena, and Katherine "Lena" Beckman of Prescott, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, on Oct. 31, 2006; parents, Peter and Emilie; daughter, Carol Hollatz; brothers, Oscar, Albert, Otto "Erwin," Hugo, and George Beckman; and sisters, Ella "Betty" Ward, Esther Eastlund, and Elnora Beckman.
