Wolverine tight end Tony Wegscheid's acrobatic touchdown catch in the corner of the end zone was the only bright spot in Wadena-Deer Creek's 36-6 homecoming loss to Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in Heart O' Lakes Conference action Friday night.
Wegscheid wrestled the 17-yard pass from Donny Tabery away from a Rebel defender with 18 seconds left in the first half as the Rebels took the 24-6 lead into the break.
Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton used a big second quarter to break open a scoreless game. Michael Nelson had a five-yard run, Jonathan Moline scored from seven yards out and Riley Nelson added a 93-yard interception return for the Rebels.
In the fourth quarter, the Rebels tacked on a two-yard run from Taylor Yliniemi and a three-yard burst from Cole Crabtree to close out the scoring.
Offensively, the Wolverines had 178 total yards compared to the Rebels' 408. Aaron Kern was the Wolverine workhorse with 30 attempts for 82 yards. On defense, Wegscheid recovered a fumble for the Wolverines and both Alex Barbato and Matt Lepper had interceptions. Individual defense statistics were not available from the coaching staff.

The Wolverines (1-2 Heart O' Lakes Conference, 1-3 Overall) travels to Pelican Rapids 7 p.m. Friday.
