Raymond Arthur Brink, of Wadena, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, July 15.

He was born to Arthur and Lavina (Axelvold) Brink on Oct. 9, 1919, in Grand Rapids, Minn. After graduating from high school, he entered the Air Force where he served from 1940 to 1945. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Louise Benson on Oct. 13, 1951, in Forest Lake. He and Marilyn have made their home in Wadena for the past 52 years. Together they owned and operated Brinks Jewelry until his retirement. He has been a very positive and active member of his community. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, United Way, American Legion, VFW, Senior Citizen Center secretary but mostly both he and Marilyn have been extremely active in their church where he served on the church council, call committee and many other committees. He also enjoyed his time spent with his daughters and his grandchildren, playing golf with his friends, playing cards and bowling.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 18, in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wadena with Rev. Daniel DeBlock officiating. Burial with military honors supplied by the Elmer Goche Post 3922, VFW of Wadena, was held in the Wadena Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brooks and Britta Anderson, Joel and Mara Bertelsen, Al and Bob Simson, Kirk Thompson and David Schramm.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Marilyn; daughters Bonnie (Gary) Anderson of Lindstrom and Julie (Ross) Bertelsen of Apple Valley; six grandchildren; brother Allen of St. Cloud; sisters Jean Bibbs of Portland, Ore., and Lois Wanquist of Great Falls, Mont.; and sister-in-law Alice Brink of Lamy, N.M.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Daniel, and brother, Glen.
