With the filing period for county offices still open for a few more days, there's already a contested race in both the Wadena County Commissioner District 2 and 4 races this year.
Wadena County District 2, a seat currently held by Orv Meyer, already has four candidates, according to the Minnesota Secretary of State's Office. As of Tuesday morning, Jim Hofer, Ralph A. Miller, Tom Miller and Harvey Schoon have filed.
In District 4, incumbent Mary Harrison has filed and will be challenged by Rodney Bounds.
The Secretary of State also reported one filing for Wadena County Soil and Water Supervisor, District 5: Melvin Kinnunen.
The filing period for those offices ends July 15.
