• Hitting a deer caused a flat tire on a vehicle along with body damage.

 

• A collision with a deer caused a vehicle's air bags to inflate along with body damage and a broken windshield.

Oct. 6

• A vehicle suspected of dropping cats off on the side of the road was reported to the Sheriff's office. Two deputies spoke with the owner of the reported vehicle who said he was looking into getting a cat and had stopped to take an abandoned feline home. When he saw a vehicle approaching him from behind he decided to leave the area.

 

Oct. 7

• A caller reported his teenage grandson was harassed by neighbors while bowhunting. He alleged the neighbors walked around on their own land firing off rounds into the air.

 

• Based on what she thought she heard her husband say to their son about hunting, a woman contacted the Wadena Police Department to alert them. An Order For Protection stipulated her husband was not permitted to possess firearms. Since the woman was not sure her husband had gone hunting with their son she was advised to confirm the fact before making a report on the possession for firearms.

Oct. 8

• Law enforcement was informed when a man, who had allegedly put on a contract on the complainant's daughter, showed up and refused to leave. He finally left after the daughter, who had broken up with him, said she did not want to see or speak with him.

 

• A complainant took action when a female parked her car in a no parking zone at Walmart, took a child with her into the store but left a small girl in a restraint chair behind. She told the female it was not right to leave the child in the car.

Oct. 9

• A landowner reported the theft of two six-foot green gates, chains and padlocked. The gates had been padlocked and chained to posts. The thieves did not take the posts.

 

• A caller reported an injured deer showed up in his yard but trotted off.

• A deputy received a letter from a prison inmate regarding a theft. It was forwarded to Otter Tail County.

Oct. 10

• After a female's landlord allegedly entered her residence unannounced and came into her room when she was undressed she asked to speak with a deputy.

 

• A person on the way to his hunting property came upon a deer which had been hit by a car. He asked for a permit to take the deer and was given permission to kill the deer.

 

• A collision with two calves on 190th Street damaged a driver's front bumper, license plate and the passenger side of his truck.

Oct. 11

• A man reported receiving a disturbing call from a mentally ill friend while at his deer stand in Wadena County. The caller accused him of killing his daughter.
