This is the last week that Wadena Pioneer Journal will be a Thursday edition. The next issue will be Saturday, Sept. 12 and will continue on Saturdays.
New deadlines have now been finalized for the Saturday edition. Instead of having several different advertising, editorial copy and other deadlines, there will be one "super deadline" of 5 p.m. on Wednesdays.
"That will be the deadline for ads, letters to the editor, obituaries, classified ads, everything," said Editor and GM Steve Schulz. "It will apply to the Pioneer Journal, the Intercom and the Heartland Market. Instead of having to remember all of our deadlines, we're just going to keep it simple and merge it into that one 'super deadline.'"
The Pioneer Journal will be home delivered within the Intercom service area starting Sept. 12. PJ/Intercom contract carriers are putting up new boxes and adding "hot dots" to boxes to ensure prompt and proper delivery.
