Phillip Wayne Horn, 76, died April 17, 2006, at Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.
He was born to Clarence and Eva (Chase) Horn on Sept. 17, 1929 in Verndale. He entered the U.S. Army on Jan. 18, 1952, and was discharged on Jan. 17, 1954. He married Georgia Ann Wanous on June 17, 1954, in Wadena, where they continued to make their home. He worked for many years at Ken Stuntebeck Ford, the city of Wadena and for the Wadena Parks Department. He enjoyed bird watching, fishing, hunting, wood working, gardening and playing with his grandchildren.
His funeral was at 2 p.m. April 19 in the Zion Free Lutheran Church in Wadena with the Rev. Stephen Papillon officiating. Honorary casketbearers are the Tri-County Hospice team. Casketbearers were Duane Horn, Ronald Wanous, Larry Wanous, Scott Wanous, Sandy Wanous and Harold Erickson. Military honors were by the Elmer Goche Post 3922 Veterans of Foreign Wars of Wadena. Burial was in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Verndale with Johnson Memorial Home of Wadena in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife; father of Parkers Prairie; one son, Wayne (Ann) of Baxter; one daughter, Charlotte (Scott) Palmer of Blackduck; one brother, Duane (Donna) of Sheridan, Wyo.; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
