Like their namesakes, the Vikings from Pelican Rapids plundered the host Wolverines 61-0 in Heart O' Lakes Conference action Friday night.
Within a minute and a half of action to start the first quarter, the Vikings had a quick 14-0 lead as Pelican Rapids' Seth Lage returned the opening kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown and a fumble on the Wolverines first play from scrimmage resulted in Andrew Sorum scoring on a nine-yard run.
Pelican Rapids' McKale Evenson scored three of his four touchdowns in the first half as the Vikings took a commanding 49-0 lead into halftime. Evenson scored on runs of 10 and 77 yards to close out the first quarter and then added a three yard touchdown run to start the second quarter before yielding to the Vikings aerial attack.
Pelican Rapids quarterback Tydan Storrusten found Eric Shulstad in the end zone twice for a pair of touchdown passes. The first was for a nine-yard score and the second touchdown went for four yards with 10 seconds remaining before the break.
Evenson capped his big night with a four-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and Dan Ditch closed out Pelican Rapids' plundering with a 23-yard scamper in the fourth.

The Class 2A 10th-ranked Vikings picked up the team's fourth shutout of the season and limited the Wolverines to just 84 yards in total offense.
The Wolverines (0-7) traveled to the FargoDome on Wednesday to take on West Central Area in the season finale. Playoffs begin next week.
