Pearl Ellen Johnson 85, of rural Sebeka, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at her home.
She was born to Charles and Iva (Trickel) Noland on June 15, 1922, in Spirit Lake, Iowa. She moved with her family to Park Rapids in 1925. She attended Park Rapids Elementary School and graduated from high school in Sauk Centre, Minn., in 1940. From 1941-1962, she was a homemaker and kept busy raising her family. She then worked at the Wadena Hospital and Menahga Nursing Home. She moved to Minneapolis and operated a home care for women, retiring from there in 1984. She later sold used clothing and ceramics. Her hobbies included horses, gardening and fishing with her grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at the United Methodist Church in Sebeka with the Rev. Loren Ferch officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Tri-County Hospice. Active casketbearers will be Tom Holweg, Levi Peterson, Wally Kyllonen, Carl Grangruth, Kenny Hill, Trinity Witthuhn, Chase Brown and Josh Peterson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Park Rapids. Arrangements were entrusted to Wevley Funeral Home in Sebeka.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Johnson of Sebeka; daughter, Sandy Jones of Fort Benton, Mont.; sons, Robert Gaylord of Sebeka, Everett Witthuhn and his wife Carol of Minneapolis, Richard Witthuhn of Castledale, Utah, Mikel Johnson of Sebeka, and Gordon Johnson of Sebeka; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Patricia and Pricilla; one son, Raymond, one grandchild; seven brothers; and two sisters.
