Paul Wayne Blaha, 49, of Alvarado, Texas, formerly of Sebeka, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, in Texas.

He was born Dec. 7, 1957, in Wadena to Frank and Jacqueline (Holm) Blaha. As a small boy he moved with his family to Bloomington, Minn., where he attended public school through the ninth grade. His family then moved to Jordan, Minn., where he attended high school graduating with the class of 1975. Following high school, he entered the Army, where he proudly served his country in Alaska for four years until his honorable discharge in 1979. He returned to Minnesota and attended Staples Technical College for two years where he studied heavy equipment diesel mechanics. Upon completing his schooling, he moved to Odessa, Texas, where he worked for a Caterpillar equipment dealership beginning a career that spanned nearly 30 years. On Sept. 9, 1989, he married Wanda L. Lair in Lake Whitney, Texas. He loved his dogs, water skiing and his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, which he rode extensively.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 9, at the United Methodist Church in Sebeka with the Rev. Loren Ferch officiating. The Cardini-Pearson Funeral Home serving Menahga and Sebeka is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda; parents, Frank and Jacqueline Blaha; brothers, Kelly Blaha of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Jeff Blaha of the Park Rapids area, Donald (Shirley) Blaha of Dallas, Texas, a niece, a nephew and other relatives and friends.
