Wal-Mart can begin construction on its building at 100 Juniper Ave. N.W. after its building permit was approved by the city.
According to the application filed with the city planning and zoning office, the 99,667- square-foot building is estimated to cost $6 million. It will be 370 feet long, 265 feet wide and a maximum of 29 feet and 4 inches high.
The building permit, because it is for construction of more than $500,000, cost Wal-Mart $500. The fee has been paid to the city.
Wal-Mart recently began moving dirt on its property on County Road 20. Among the construction, Wal-Mart will reconstruct and extend Juniper Avenue.
