Citing family responsibilities, District 10B Rep. Mark Murdock, R-Ottertail, announced today he will not seek re-election.
The 59-year-old, who is in his second term, said in a press release he wishes to spend more time with his family. Along with his wife, Pat, he has two grown children and three grandchildren, with another grandchild on the way.
"After some long discussions with Pat, other family members and close friends over the holidays, we decided four years at the Capitol is enough," Murdock said in a press release. "I never went to St. Paul with the intention of being a career politician. This is a citizen Legislature and it is someone else's turn to have the honor of representing the people of District 10B."
Murdock is the vice chair of the Transportation Policy and Finance Committee. He also serves with edu-cation reform, along with commerce and regulatory reform committees.
