More than 500 people attended the 20th annual Old Fashioned Christmas at Fair Oaks Lodge Long-Term Care and Rehabilitation facility on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Fair Oaks Lodge residents and their families and friends enjoyed a day full of holiday cheer and activities. Along the river and through the woods, horse-drawn wagon rides were given and favorite holiday stories came alive through Allen Lynk's dramatic reading of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and other holiday classics. Beautiful caroling made the hallways ring with the joy of the season as choir members from Immanuel Lutheran Church shared their love through Christmas carols. Other activities included crafts, card making, face painting, cookie decorating (and eating) and, of course a visit from the jolly old Santa and Mrs. Claus. And let's not forget the wonderful holiday treats, from pickled herring to rosettes, that were served to the guests.

Winners of the Old Fashioned Christmas raffle were Dawn Eckenrode, Andrew Black, Alex Black and Phyllis Burns.
