OUTING — A 56-year-old Fort Myers, Florida, woman died Monday, Sept. 5, after she was found trapped in an all-terrain vehicle on the Emily-Outing “B” Trail in Cass County.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash, reported at 3:11 p.m., in Beulah Township near Outing. According to the report, a group of off-highway vehicle riders who were traveling on the trail came upon a 2015 Polaris Ranger side by side that had partially rolled over on the trail, trapping the driver inside the machine.
The group of riders was able to free the victim from the machine and immediately initiated lifesaving efforts. Lifesaving efforts continued on scene with EMS personnel, however, the woman was pronounced deceased on scene.
The woman was the lone occupant of the machine and was traveling alone. An autopsy is scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office and the investigation is ongoing.
Assisting at the scene were the Outing Quick Response, Crooked Lake Fire Department, Remer Ambulance, Crosby Ambulance and North Memorial Health Air Care.
