BEMIDJI — A body was found on the southwest side of Lake Bemidji by a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources biologist on Wednesday, July 13.
According to a release from Beltrami County Chief Deputy Jarrett Walton, at about noon Wednesday, the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a body floating in Lake Bemidji, on the southwest side of the lake near Lake Boulevard.
The body was found by a biologist with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources who was working on the lake, the release said.
Beltrami County deputies responded and found a male floating in the water.
Deputies retrieved the male, and found clothing and personal items on the shore near where the male was located, the release said.

There were no obvious signs of trauma and the body was transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for identification and an autopsy.
