Man, woman and two dogs found dead near Detroit Lakes

The bodies of a man and woman, along with two deceased dogs, were found on the 25000 block of County Road 6 in a Lakeview Township residence on Sept. 27, according to a news release from the Becker County Sheriff's Office.

DETROIT LAKES — A man, woman and two dogs were found dead at a residence in Lakeview Township, near Detroit Lakes, on Sept. 27.

At 9:09 a.m., emergency dispatchers received a phone call requesting the need for law enforcement on the 25000 block of County Road 6, according to a Becker County Sheriff's Office news release.

Upon entering the residence, sheriff's deputies and members of the Detroit Lakes Police Department discovered the bodies of a man and a woman along with two deceased dogs. The bodies will be sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for autopsies and identification.

The names of the victims are being withheld pending confirmation of their identities and family notification, the news release stated.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was contacted and also responded to the scene. The case remains under investigation.

"While the investigation is ongoing and in its early stages, the incident appears to be an isolated event and there are no ongoing concerns for public safety at this time," the news release stated.
